Family Activities

Using locally gathered ashe juniper (aka cedar) branches, create an abstract painting and at the same time learn about this amazing and much maligned tree. Our endangered Golden Cheeked Warblers depend on them for nesting material.

Spend a serene evening by the sea as we draw a picturesque New England lighthouse. Our maritime image will reinforce how to develop a coherent composition and allow artists to practice their colored pencil shading skills. Life is better at the beach, so mark your calendars now. No sunscreen required!

Create a one-of-kind art postcard on June 15 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Laura’s Library for the community-wide Postcard Art Exhibit on display during the summer months at Laura’s Library.

To celebrate the library's new community garden beehive, join beekeeper Roger Grape for a family-friendly presentation on our amazing friends, the honeybees -- how they work, why they're important, and even what you need to know to start your own backyard hive! Ages 7 & up.

Join us to celebrate the finale of the summer reading program, including a presentation of birds of prey by Urban Interface.

Enjoy our final performer at Laura's this summer!

Our final Wednesday performance will be children’s musician extraordinaire Joe McDermott.
